Brexit information gathering

Thanks to all our clients for completing our Brexit questionnaire. Knowing what stage our clients are at will help immensely when Customs procedures are required for UK-EU freight.

Most companies have registered for ‘TSP’ and an EORI number which are the key actions to take at this stage until trade details are agreed between UK & EU. If you still haven’t registered for these two measures then you should think about getting it out of the way.

Scots envoys exhibit at Venafro

A hearty congratulations to our Scots envoys, Elaine Shemilt and Valentina Bonizzi, for their new exhibition at Castello Pandone in Venafro.

The exhibitions consider the events of World War II in the territory surrounding Venafro, known to many of our clients as their ‘other’ homeland outside Scotland.

‘Diletta, Girl with Suitcase’, produced for the permanent collection, consists of an installation comprising a new video by Valentina Bonizzi and a photographic image by Robert Capa. The installation explores memories of the Venafro-area territory over the last seventy years.

‘Winterline’ by Elaine Shemilt is on display until April 2015, and includes maps, drawings, print, collage and video in a series of works inspired by the experience of the soldiers and civilians of the Venafro area during WWII.

The Museum and the artworks offer a lovely opportunity to find out about the history of the Venafro area – we’ve been getting to know the team there and can assure you they’re great to work with and would be delighted to welcome more visitors from Scotland!

You heard it here first…

The wonders of Italy never cease – our cultural partners, Cultural Documents have set up a new partnership between Italy and Scotland to present the first ever exhibitions of contemporary art in a new national museum in Italy: Castello Pandone in Venafro was recently inaugurated and as well as being home to a beautiful collection of art from the Renaissance period, the unique collection of frescos of the horses which carried kings of Italy during the eighteenth century is now open every day.

Our sponsorship partner Deirdre MacKenna who runs Cultural Documents said “This is an extraordinary opportunity to present specially commissioned works by living artists in a resonant historical context. And it’s a real honour that Scots artists Valentina Bonizzi and Elaine Shemilt have been invited to be the first contemporary artists to present works in this museum”.

Comprehensive Services

Being involved in project work for the oil & gas industry means that some jobs aren’t quite as routine as our regular groupage services. Ships arrive at various ports throughout the UK and moving ‘Out of Gauge’ freight has to be arranged with precision and forward planning.

At the moment we are arranging for a 46 tonne reel which is 3.5 mt wide and 4 mt high to be transported to Aberdeen. A low loader will carry the reel, and a police escort will accompany the vehicle along the whole journey to it’s destination. Specialist arrangements such as these are all part of our comprehensive freight & logistics services.

Sponsoring Dunipace Juniors

Since moving to our current premises in 2005, IFS have been proud to sponsor football strips for local team Dunipace Juniors.

After our name change in January 2012 we have gone to great lengths to make sure that all of our clients and suppliers are aware that Italian Freight Services is now called IFS Worldwide, but after the start of the new football season we realised that we had forgotten to inform the strip suppliers. As a consequence the team are playing the current season with our old name still emblazoned on the front of their shirts.

Further information about Dunipace Juniors can be found on their website, and we look forward to seeing our new logo on their shirts next season. Forza Dunipace!

Arts Shipment from Venice to London

We recently arranged a very unusual shipment for the arts production house ‘Moving Universe’. They work all over the world collaborating on educational art projects with a range of clients from schools and universities to museums and galleries and more.

In July of this year Moving Universe needed their latest arts education installation in Venice to be shipped to London in time for the 2012 Olympics. It was a complex job. Every item needed to be carried to a boat by hand, then shipped back to the mainland to be safely packaged for travel by road. It all went well, and we look forward to transporting the installation to the rest of it’s destinations across the globe.

More information on Moving Universe can be found at

A note from Dunipace Juniors FC

“Dunipace Juniors FC are proud to be sponsored by IFS Worldwide. The club was formed back in 1888 and in 2013 will be celebrating their 125th anniversary. Dunipace are in the West Region First Division and are members of the Scottish Juniors Football Association who are in turn part of the SFA – the full body of Scottish football.

IFS Worldwide sponsor Dunipace Junior away kit for match days and also warm up pre-match training tops used by our under 19s youth team.

This long standing sponsorship of Dunipace Juniors by IFS Worldwide is greatly appreciated by the club and we look forward to their continuing support for a long time to come.”

IFS is sponsoring the shipments of over forty artworks by artists Valentina and Elaine between Italy and Scotland in plenty of time for the inauguration in December. Elaine says…”I needed to know that the artefacts and artworks would be safe so I could concentrate upon developing the exhibitions, and after the IFS team shipped my works to Scotland for my exhibition in Edinburgh I knew I had found peace of mind”.

To make their new exhibitions, Valentina and Elaine have been working in the villages near Venafro, researching the history of the period during and after WWII when people from Vallerotonda, Cerasuolo, Pozzilli, Filignano, Ceppanga, Acquafondata, Viticuso, Conca Casale and beyond had to leave their homes in the struggle of the disruption caused by the war. The two artists have worked closely with local museums and historians to produce new works for the exhibition – please follow the links below to find out more about this area which is so well known to so many people in Scotland.
